Frequently asked questions about Fire Blankets

Here you will find the answers to the most common questions about Fire Blankets. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Do not hesitate to contact us.

1. Remove the extinguishing blanket from the package.
2. If there is no hand protection, twist the corners of the fire extinguisher around the hands.
3. Hold the blanket to protect your head and upper body with your arms outstretched in front of you and walk towards the fire.
4. Quickly place the fire blanket over the fire. Make sure it is sealed airtight all around.
5. Leave the extinguishing blanket over the fire source and have it removed only by the alerted fire brigade.

Extinguishing blankets interrupt the oxygen supply in the event of a fire and thus suffocate the fire. Fire blankets may only be removed by the fire brigade as re-ignition of a fire can never be ruled out by renewed oxygen supply.
We recommend 3-5 times but that depends on how severe the fire is. More importantly, you can also continue to use a reusable blanket topped with a brand-new blanket until it is completely unusable.
In the initial stages of a fire, it is recommended to use a blanket other than that please contact your experienced fire department.
